In the Mid Hudson Regional Business Plan Competition, Akina proudly secured 2nd place in the Consumer and Business Products track. Presenting our business plan to a panel of judges provided us with invaluable feedback on our startup idea, solidifying our commitment to intertwining style and purpose.
Motivated by this journey, Akina emerged as a brand dedicated to supporting endangered species with every purchase. We recognized a gap in the market – existing apparel options felt either too realistic or overly playful. Our vision was different: a brand seamlessly blending stylish design with a meaningful cause. At the heart of our brand is a unique logo, an embodiment of our stylistic approach. A single glance reveals an elephant, but upon closer inspection, you'll uncover four other endangered animals intricately embedded within the image. This creative touch sets us apart, offering designs that are both fashionable and carry a message of conservation.
We've carefully curated a collection with earthy tones, providing a natural backdrop to our designs, allowing our apparel to harmonize with the beauty of nature. As we grow, we plan to put together clothing drops, in which we release several shirts at a time, each with a specific animal in mind. This will allow our audience to anticipate releases and support the animals they are most passionate about.
